OUR STORY

FROM 2024.
ONWARDS.

Harthill FC began with a conversation between old friends on a day out in York. After years away from playing together, the idea finally became reality in summer 2024. We entered Rotherham Division 2, established ourselves in our first season, then earned promotion in 2025/26. Now The Til compete in Division 1 for 2026/27.

BRINGING FOOTBALL HOME

SPENS FIELD

Harthill had been without a usable football pitch for around 20 years after Harthill Dynamos disbanded around 2006.

THE CHALLENGE

A pitch to rebuild

Collapsed historic drainage left major undulations, while years of mole damage had killed areas of grass. During our first two seasons, the surface became unusable and home fixtures had to move to Kiveton.

THE WORK

Restoring Spens Field

With council backing and Football Foundation support, the club has reseeded, scarified and rolled the pitch. Grant support also reduced the cost of new goalposts from around £1,500 to roughly £300.

THE FUTURE

Home in Harthill

For 2026/27, the aim is to finally establish Spens Field as our true home. Rotherham Council now cuts and lines the pitch following arrangements made through the local council, and the club also has use of the changing facilities.

BACKED BY HARTHILL

MORE THAN
A FOOTBALL CLUB.

The Blue Bell backed Harthill FC from the beginning, funding our first kits and later donating HartFest proceeds towards the Spens Field renovation. The pub still provides food after every home game, where the squad heads back to debrief and socialise.

Brookhouse Gas has sponsored our social media since the first game, Green Piling backed the club as shorts sponsor, and BM Food Solutions has supplied training jackets.

CLUB CULTURE

From York to the Brampton Mile

Every December, the squad splits into home and away teams for a day of games on the Brampton Mile — a team-bonding tradition that takes us back to the day-out roots of the club. End-of-season presentation nights are held at The Blue Bell, while pre-season away days have included an August 2025 trip to Skegness Imps.

A NEW AWAY ERA

£3,000 CARLING × UMBRO WIN

After entering a grassroots competition and hearing nothing for months, Harthill FC discovered it had won a bundle worth around £3,000 — including kit, footballs, equipment and training jackets.

The prize inspired a refresh of our away identity, replacing the previous white away colours with a new blue away kit. Green and black remain the heart of Harthill FC.
